Fast Forward Facilitation:
Winning the Race to Results
in Record Time!
Learn
powerful, proven, practical facilitation skills for overcoming
barriers to team success.
Effective facilitation skills give people, teams and
organizations a high performance edge. Benefit from
Susan Wilson's
understanding of, and ability to share, practical and
realistic processes that enable people to work, trust, and
communicate most effectively.
In many situations, facilitation skills can be developed by one
or more members within a group. Not everyone can be a great
facilitator, nor will most of us be Tiger Woods on the golf course.
However, by correctly applying the key principles of meeting
management, presentation skills, influence, and facilitation skills,
you can develop your people to facilitate meetings that deliver
amazing results.
This program is highly interactive, provides immediate
feedback, and helps to build a network of support among the
participants. Throughout this 5-module program, relevant
homework links the skills to the workplace where they are
immediately applicable. With skilled facilitation, overcome
obstacles and barriers to team successes!
Acquire essential skills for effectively bringing people
together by mastering the following:
- Eliminate problem-causing communication
- Develop facilitation skills that achieve desired outcomes
- Use strategies for managing meetings, honoring group dynamics
and achieving your goals
- Build presentation skills that clearly define your leadership
- Overcome obstacles and reduce barriers in group dynamics
"Meeting skills training should be the number one thing on
your training budget, because poorly run meetings are the number one
time-waster," -- Dike Drummond, CEO at SuperTeams LLC
Session 1 – Getting the Race on Track -
Meeting Management
Sadly, too many meetings cost far more time, energy and hard
dollars than what they yield in results. This segment zeroes in on
specific strategies for raising the value of meetings immediately.
Participants learn to execute meetings that enhance the
relationships of participants and consistently achieve desired
goals. Key objectives of this 4-7 hour segment include:
- Developing guidelines that reduce conflict
- Structuring the segments of a meeting to achieve desired
objectives
- Knowing the purposes of meeting to enhance clear outcomes
Session 2 – Fueling the Win -
Facilitation Skills
Leaders of meetings often fall short in achieving desired
outcomes because they do not have the skills to manage communication
among participants. Without certain skills, efforts are
quickly derailed when participants push their own agendas, retreat,
and/or play mind games. Objectives of this 4-7 hour session overcome
these barriers. The focus is on:
- Strategies to guarantee balanced contribution
- Managing difficult behaviors in participants
- Listening as a key to achieving desired outcomes
Session 3 – Make Yours More Than a Voice in the
Crowd-
Presentation Skills
Most of us have heard it a dozen times – more people say they
fear speaking in public more than they fear death. This doesn’t help
organizations where the ability to speak well in team situations
impacts goals to be achieved for the company and the employee’s
career. Most of us must learn to communicate our ideas effectively.
This session, although initially challenging, ranks as a favorite
time and time again. Participant rejoice in their ability to advance
from verbal stumbles to smooth, five minute (videotaped!)
presentations – in just 7 hours*! Focus is on:
- Presentation Skills
- Platform Mechanics
- Preparation and Delivery
*There is even greater value when participants are taught to use
exercises, icebreakers, and activities in relevant and meaningful
ways (add ½ day).
Session 4 – Drivers to Success -
Influence
A key to influencing others is the ability to persuade. Effective
persuasion includes honoring trust as well as agenda! Highlights of
this 4-7 hour segment target:
- Building trust to enhance persuasion in 10 specific ways
- Identifying / resolving barriers to influencing
- Communication traps that damage your ability to persuade
Session 5 – Putting the Pedal to the Medal -
Pulling it All Together on a Project
and Graduation!
Sessions 1-4 are chock full of strategies that build ability to
facilitate a group – regardless of size or the goal to be achieved.
Participants need to transition their skill to relevant workplace
issues. This 4-7 hour segment provides that opportunity with
helpful feedback. The focus is on:
Facilitation of a meeting, addressing a current organizational
issue
- Graduation
- Celebration (!)
