Leaders are Born, Not Made...Right?

While this philosophy is still at work, there is a strong body of research that suggests that, with desire, people can choose to learn the leadership skills so important to influencing others' behavior. One of the greatest NFL football coaches in history, Vince Lombardi, says that, "Leaders aren't born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that's the price we'll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal."

Leadership is positive influence.

Leadership is influencing the collection of individuals within your organization to cooperate towards a common goal - a clear goal that is collectively desired and valued.
